Church Council
The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd (LCGS) Church Council is comprised of the Executive Committee plus five at-large members of the congregation. The Executive Committee is the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Past President. The Senior Pastor is a non-voting, advisory member of the Church Council.
The Council is responsible for ensuring LCGS is properly staffed, recommending an annual budget, presiding over the ministry areas of Good Shepherd, and general oversight of the congregation to ensure everything is done in accordance with the Word of God. Council members prayerfully and faithfully seek to serve God and our congregation by supporting Good Shepherd’s mission and staff as they lead the various church ministries. Members of the Council serve 3-year terms in their elected role, and the Vice President is elected to serve three one-year terms successively as Vice President, then President, and finally Past President.
Meetings of the Church Council are held monthly on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm. The Annual Meeting of the congregation is held on the last Sunday in January.
